Some days are just full of treasures! This is one of those days. I didn’t mean to look for free books. I was just closing out an Amazon page left open from earlier, researching a book mentioned in my last post. My curiosity wouldn’t let me leave without checking the book ribbon at the bottom of the page. I’m so glad I took the time. I think I’ve found some gems.

It seems crazy to mention more books than I can possibly read but… they have to be grabbed quickly, before they disappear, never to be found again. That happened to me yesterday. There were several suggested books I wanted to check out but when I clicked to a new screen by mistake – they were gone. Clicking the back button didn’t help. They slipped into the black hole… GONE. Grab them quick, while you can. That’s my daily cry of encouragement.

BookRunes has a FREE book for us today. Peg Leg’s Princess. I don’t really know this author – Cyndi Raye – but it looks interesting, from the little bit I read of it.

I’m still reading a Tuscan Legacy and liking it a lot. I’m on book 5, almost half way through. This collection is still a bargain today at $1.33
LPC books has some free books for us this week after all. It looks like they changed they minds and we aren’t complaining one bit.
Focus on Love (The Wardrobe series book 2) is a FREE book (Tip: This has to have the complete name used for it to come up in an Amazon search. At least that’s how it behaved for me.) This was part of a box set earlier in 2019 and it was good. It’s about two photographers who start out as friends before they realize they are in competition with one another. What a way to discourage a budding romance.
The Yuletide Angel has come up again as FREE. I think it’s only a few days since it was mentioned in my read & enjoyed post.
We picture angels as dressing in white but this angel dresses in black. She wants to blend in with the night so she can leave hampers on front porches without being seen. She’s become a legend, everyone knows about her gifts but no one has guessed her identity. Until, someone does notice. He sees a figure lurking about late one night, and investigates. Once he realizes who she is and what she’s doing he becomes concerned for her safety. He decides to follow her. Now they are both nervous. She hears a few quiet steps but can’t tell who it is that’s following her.
Whiter Than Snow is FREE. I’ve read this a while back as part of a boxed set.
Jennifer has a broken arm and cracked ribs and she’s stuck home alone in the blizzard of the century. Both the phone and the power have gone out and she needs to prepare to survive in the cold.
Rick, a volunteer fireman, is checking residences on the side of the mountain for anyone left stranded. He’s about to move her to a shelter in town when a tree comes crashing down. It’s huge and the gale force winds have toppled it onto his truck. Now they’re both stranded.

Remembering Christmas is FREE. I’m drawing a blank on this one, although it seems I did read it in 2012. There are other Dan Walsh books in my collection of downloads too and I’ve read most of them by the looks of it. I’ll have to pay better attention this time.
Rick has a life that doesn’t include his parents. He’s never liked his step father and when his mother begs him to come home he reluctantly agrees. Her husband’s stroke leaves her needing help running the family bookstore, a chore Rick is not thrilled about.

As promised, here is another installment of the bargain book collections I found on Amazon yesterday.
A Date With Danger, a six book, 1406 page, Romantic/Suspense collection, a bargain at $1.32 CDN. Reading through the blurbs on Amazon, it looks as though this may be a fun read, in places. I think it may have to go the top of my TBR pile. Digging a little deeper into my reading experiences, it appears I’ve read several of these books along the way somewhere. I guess that’s not too surprising as contributors will sometimes go with manuscripts already published.
The fun one will be the last one. Delilah Morgan’s dying husband wants to protect her from future suitors lacking his approval so he arranges for the local judge to court her, when the time is right. Unfortunately, he doesn’t remember to share the news of this arrangement with his wife who is, decidedly, not looking to be courted.

A Tuscan Legacy will keep us busy with nine books plus a novella. A good deal at $1.33

BookRunes had a FREE book suggestion for us late this morning. It’s new to me, both the book and the author. The first page catches my attention and looks like it could be a promising read.
The Renovation – Fulton Ridge Series book 3
He has adopted a no-dating policy after two disastrous attempts. Now, there’s a new girl in town and he’s tempted to rethink his decision.
She’s joined a volunteer renovation crew as a way of making new friends, he’s part of the crew. He seems appealing but her new best friend advises her to stay away from him. It’s not clear why she would say that.
Interest on both sides is undeniable but the gossips in town are making it difficult for them to explore a possible relationship.

There were a number of bargain Amazon suggestions when I downloaded this free book. As a result, I gathered a bundle of interesting collections that will roll out nicely over the next few days.
The first one was offered a year ago and I read and enjoyed it then. A Christmas Romance collection that fits perfectly with the season.
Betwixt Two Hearts is a six book Romance Collection with six great authors. It’s a bargain at $1.31 CDN
The next one – Resort to Love is a five book collection with 1075 pages. A good deal at the bargain price of $1.31 CDN. I had to search for it as Resort to Love Angela Strong to get it to come up for me. Amazon is finicky like that sometimes, especially on collections- the way they are named.
This series follows five brothers in their quest for romance.
The cover for Finding Love at the Oregon Coast looks familiar, it turns out I’ve read it (a novella) and also Finding Love In Sun Valley Idaho (book 1). I’m not recognizing the authors name even though I have encountered her before. Reading the rest of the series will serve to refresh my memory.

This morning I’m off to the city again, (an hour away) for a Christmas concert my grandsons are part of. It’s not a big affair but they always like it when I show up.
A cold front has moved in today and it’s -17c, feels like -30 with the wind chill. It’s a big change over the -2c we had yesterday. That’s how it goes this time of year, lots of ups and downs. I’ll throw in a sleeping bag, as a blanket to keep me warm, just in case I get stranded somewhere along the way. I don’t expect to get stuck but you never know.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better book day.

A Facebook post by Gospel eBooks, for their Daily E-Books Deals, gives us a bargain book ($1.32CDN) today. Beautiful Storm, book four in the Unfailing Love series. I’ve not read Mandi Blake before so can’t say whether this will be good or not, but as usual I hope it will be.
Below is part of the Amazon synopsis. It sounds like it could be interesting.

Amazon describes this book as reminiscent of the Legally Blond movies. She is well-intentioned, beautiful, slightly clueless, and really, really good at what she does – which is selling homes in Portland, Oregon.
This book showed up for me 6 years ago. I’m tempted to read it again.
Currently, I’m reading Forget Me Now an Alana Terry thriller. It’s frustrating me. The timeline keeps moving back and forth, but the confusing action (or maybe it’s the description of the action) is causing the most frustration. I’m just not getting it. I’m going to move on, maybe try again later on just to make sure it really doesn’t work for me.
I think Sand Creek Serenade will be next up. Unfortunately it has gone back to full price, although, it is free if you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited. I’ve read the first chapter and so far I’m hooked.
A female doctor in a male dominated, old time, Army Fort has to be strong. Sadie Hoppner can definitely hold her own with the soldiers, if given half a chance. She’s a good doctor and appreciates the chance to work alongside her brother.
She’s also curious, wanting to meet the women living and working in the recently appearing nomadic camp. Before an opportunity can present itself a dog steals her shoe and runs with it. Headed back to their camp to tease his owner. He plays keep-away with the shoe enticing Five Kills to follow him back to the fort where he will drop the shoe beside Sadie. The dog seems to be a bit of a match maker.
We’re off to a good start.
