BookBub has a bargain suggestion for us today at $0.99. This book showed up for us last summer and I can remember really liking it.

The Vacant House (Sophie O’Brion Mysteries Book 1) is still a bargain at $0.99. I liked this one a lot too.

I’m excited to see Angela Hunt has a bargain book out right now. She has been one of my favorite authors for decades. $0.99 is a really good deal for one of her books. There are other similar books in this series and I can’t recall if I’ve read any of them. I don’t think so – though I’ve read similar books. I’m looking forward to this.

I found another bargain book, by an author unknown to me. I’ve read similar books to this one, but they were definitely not the same. I can’t make a recommendation at this point but I do plan to read it to see if I like it as well as I liked the others. This would fall in the Metaphysical Fiction category.

The last two books will not be quick reads. I think it will be a deep and thought provoking experience, for both of them.

Awesome books Read & Enjoyed

Three awesome books in a row, I couldn’t have been happier. Well, four if you count my current read.

Yesterday was the final read of the three books and the last page was a big let down. A cliffhanger? I’m used to neat and tidy. I had to flip through the pages a few times to realize it really was the last page. I wasn’t ready for it to end and unexpected probably made it worse. It didn’t end. It just stopped – mid scene. A real cliff hanger. Now I have to read book 2.

It’s probably a good thing it wasn’t any  longer, I had enough trouble putting it down as it was. In my opinion, everything about the book was perfect. The time travel element had a unique spin that added to the allure. I give this book a solid 5*****

It is still $2.66 CDN. There are  five more books in the series and they are all linked so it’s good to start at the beginning.

The other two awesome books belong to Chautona Havig. I like all of her writing but these two are my favorites, at the moment anyway. It was an exciting surprise to find them even better than expected and I had trouble putting these books down.

The common thread between them is speech. In Speak Now the leading man doesn’t speak unless absolutely necessary. A successful business man, he does all of life like that and it works for him. Relationship can get complicated, though, when there are missing pieces of information. He’s oblivious. In Corner Booth the leading man loves to talk, more than a little too much. His friends have been calling him on it, daring him to hold back. An experiment seems like a good idea. He won’t speak to his unexpected lunch partner, he’ll try listening, to see if he can. It turns out to be an eye opener and he doesn’t always like what he’s learning about himself. Meanwhile, she’s learning to like him, a lot.

I’m currently reading Shadows in the Curtains and I’m almost finished. It’s another book I can’t put down. It’s still FREE if you hurry

It is a Billionaire story but you’d never know it. Not a single hint of the lifestyle-of-the-rich-and-famous. She’s the one with inherited money, lives in a nice house, and can afford to pursue her business dreams. He’s a regular guy, attracted to her before he knows anything about her.  The drama happens when her stalker begins killing everyone close to her so he can have her all to himself.

Author Jennifer Youngblood has a couple of suggestions for us this morning.

Billionaire romances seem to be all the rage these days. I thought a subject like this automatically translates as tacky. I’m changing my attitude. After coming across a few great stories recently, I found some of them truly are tacky free. I’ve read and enjoyed a couple of  Cami Checketts’ (Jennifer’s friend) books in the last year and I’m expecting this to be a good experience too.

Maybe she has taken part in some of the other collections I’ve read lately. No new free and bargain books February 16, 2020

I’m currently reading Speak Now, it’s still free, and I’m loving it. The setting, the life situations of the characters, and the direction things are taking them make the story appealing but….

The thing I love most about this story is the way it is being developed. Two things; first Chautona is using an awesome tool that is working very well for her. Unspoken communication. So much can be said with inference, reducing long paragraphs of mind numbing conversation to simple sentences. She’s got it just right and it works.

The second thing is character development. The two main characters are emerging layer by layer. The strong picture the opening scenes create is constantly changing with each new revelation. I’m at 15% of the book and realizing – I have no idea who these people really are. And I’m loving them.

This is one of my favorite Chautona books.

After an extensive Amazon search, I’ve not found anything else new and interesting in the Free and bargain range. I guess this is about it for today then. I’m hoping this won’t be a huge disappointment for you and that you still have something interesting waiting in your TBR pile.

My weather app says it’s cloudy here today but at the moment the sun is shining and life looks cheerful. A perfect time to refresh my coffee and go back to my book.

Maybe a little later I can come up with a read and enjoyed post. It would be a very good idea if I could since another backlog of read books is starting to accumulate.

I missed one, BookRunes had a FREE suggestion this morning too.

Maybe it’s a good thing I missed it. It heads off in a much different direction from the rest of this morning’s offerings. Maybe it deserves the attention of it’s own post.

Beggars Daughter is a true story based on one woman’s life, sharing her struggle with a difficult but very real subject.

There is a bargain book ($1.26 CDN) showing up on Amazon this morning, one we’ve seen before and it’s nice to see again. This is a collection of the four first books of four series. Several have recently been promoted separately but in case you haven’t been initiated to them here  they are again. I’m pretty sure I read all four books in this collection back in 2018 but I will have to check it out just in case I didn’t finish.

Billionaires and fake marriages seem to be the trending book subjects these days so maybe I should give them a chance. A bargain collection ($1.31 CDN) showed up on Amazon and it looks like it could be taken seriously, I’ve decided to give it a try after reading the first chapter of the first book.
