The Restoration (Sully Parkway Book 3)

Amazon quote:

He lives by the book—or his own version of it—and makes everyone miserable in the process.
Living to dish out discipline, Assistant Principal Michael Lansdowne receives a helping himself with only hours to choose his own consequences. Will he go back to middle school and teach seventh-grade math or off to elementary school as a substitute AP?

Despite his lack of affinity with children, the choice is a no-brainer for Michael. He’s an experienced assistant principal, after all. To Baird Elementary he goes.

Determined to survive in this alien environment, he attempts to restore his reputation, hoping as little of his secret as possible will surface. He meets his match in an officious principal, an inflexible first-grade teacher, and a praying wife. Can he manage to restore his broken relationships and quiet his guilty conscience?

The Restoration, Book Three in the Sully Parkway series, is best enjoyed after reading Books One and Two of the series, The Jesus Car and The Substitute.

******************************

It says we should read books one and two first to get the most out of this one but since book three is free I’m gong to take a chance. Besides, I looked at the other books and they don’t seem to be a continued story in the sense that the main character changes with each of them. I mean it probably is a continued story in a way… but I think I’ll manage.

*********

Currently, I’m back to reading a long book (I’m half way through- 300 more pages) that is futuristic but the power struggles of their world feel very reminiscent of today’s world. … nothing new under the sun rings very true right about now.

It doesn’t get much worse than the prospect of a three-way civil war, and in a global superpower grown arrogant and complacent in its prosperity, one influential man leads the peaceful charge against corruption and tyranny, while others plot more radical solutions.

Council Minister Merak Dorvallen’s allies are few, and now his youngest son Coren, a Lieutenant in the vaunted Irrianite military, is the target of government assassins. Desperate, Merak reaches out to Ohrim Sunvail, an old friend in exile who harbors potentially helpful secrets. Ohrim’s exceptionally competent and head-strong daughter Mei’ Shera accepts the assignment and thwarts the assassins, setting in accelerated motion events that will shape a drastically different future for Irrianon.

In the midst of the chaos, scientists in Irrianon have secretly cracked the code for interstellar space travel, which will shape a drastically different future for the entire planet of Toryl, especially when they find a sister planet of humans only a few years behind in technology. The winner of the Irrianite civil war will lay a solid first claim on the stars, unlocking a universe of possibilities for both progress and potential disaster.

In spite of a fair bit of time spent browsing and searching, one book was all I could come up with. Tomorrow.

Happy Reading y’all.

Free and bargain books May 25, 2021

Finally I have a moment, and a few things to share.

BookRunes has a FREE suggestion for us that is intriguing. I know I use that word a lot but in this case it is probably truer than usual. I’ve only read the first chapter and the synopsis and I want to see where this story is going.

The Morning Light: never passes us

Amazon quote:

Poetic, engaging and original, The Morning Light is a charming story of discovering the ancient and shared voice within each of us.
A violin maker’s story of music, craftsmanship and the seeking of serenity set against homelessness, twists of fate and a never ending desire to reproduce the sweet and soulful sound of a grandfather’s violin, fine-tuned to play with a resonance that connects the heart.

************************

BookBub has a bargain suggestion for us. This is book 1 in a series. A year ago we were offered book 4 and I think if I remember right it was a good read.

A Match to Call Ours (Front Porch Promises Book 1)

Amazon quote:

Brittany Gorman needs a job, but nanny to six-year-old twin girls isn’t exactly what she’s looking for. Their single father, Parker Watson, isn’t sure hiring Brittany is the right move, but he’s desperate for help.

Soon Brittany is charming the twins and their father as well. But Parker still clings to the bitterness of his past, a past that has made him a recluse on his isolated Montana ranch, distanced him from God, and kept him from finding love.

Can Brittany’s prayers and two little matchmakers soften Parker’s heart and help him find love with his perfect Montana match?

************************

I’m currently reading a mystery/suspense novel. I’ve only just started and I’m anxious to get back to it.

Wow. Believe it when I say you need to hurry, these great bargains don’t last long. 4 days later and it’s lost the attractive price.

It has started off with a bang and is still a good read though.

Secrets and Suspense: A Clean Romantic Suspense (The Men of Fire Beach Book 4)

There’s trouble brewing in Fire Beach!

Cara Hunter owns the bed and breakfast in town, but before she came to Fire Beach, she was in the military. Strangely, no one seems to know exactly what she did when she was in the military, but when Bubba and Makenna find her unconscious on the floor, her past may finally get revealed.

Cole Davenport is a criminal investigator whose lead suspect is Cara Hunter, but when he meets her, he has a hard time believing she’s a killer. When he gets caught up in Cara’s past, will he be able to help her? Or will he lose his life in the process?

******************************

Actually I have two books going on right now, I needed a break.

The first book is sci-fi. It is long and has many battles with even more factions. I’m enjoying it and cheering for the good guys but need a cleansing of the palette to continue on.

No wonder it seems so long, I had forgotten it’s over 600 pages. 668 to be precise.

Patriot Star

It’s a good time to read right now at my house. The sky is a heavy gray and the wind has been ferocious off and on most of the day and night. The perfect time to curl up with a warm blanket and a hot cup of tea.

I’ve had a productive work time over the last few days and the resulting euphoria makes reading time even sweeter.

I hope you are enjoying it too.

BookRunes has a FREE suggestion for us. It turns out I have read this author once but it was six years ago. Too far back to remember clearly. Looking at the blurb, I wasn’t sure how to feel about this one but then there were some interesting reviews and the price was right, so why not.

I’ve read the first chapter or two (I’ve lost track for sure, always a good sign) and I think I’m gonna like this book.

If you are like me and the synopsis doesn’t grab your attention, read the first chapter. You just might like it.

Dupree’s Rebirth (The Adam Dupree Romantic Suspense Quadrilogy Book 1)

Amazon quote:

Sometimes life’s greatest mystery is finding yourself
Adam Dupree is at a literal crossroad of life. Dupree’s life has become a living hell and it’s time to make a change. Turn right and end it. Or, turn left, break free, and see where life takes him.

That one decision sends Dupree on an epic journey of rediscovery as he attempts to understand the mystery inside himself. Moving down a literal and figurative highway, his life attains meaning by defending the weak, protecting the poor and standing up for what is right in an unjust world.

As he re-discovers the thrill of being alive, Dupree becomes a hero, victim, and healer. But above all, he becomes a man with a purpose in life.

From deep Southern California, up the Great Central Valley, through Oregon and into Washington. Along the way, Dupree meets a cross-section of America. Some good, some bad, some givers and some takers.

Part JOHN STEINBECK, part WILLIAM FAULKNER, part MARK TWAIN, but all Micheal Maxwell.

This next FREE book was recommended on author Chautona Havig’s Facebook page.

Again, I found myself reading the first few pages to see if it would be boring. I’m going to go for it. This is an author I’ve not read before but the price is right.

Two free books is awesome, considering I thought we were done for the day.

I’m going to curl up with a cozy blanket. I’m freezing.

The weather turned cool after the blistering heat of a few days ago and my system is not loving it. The fast change from 30c to 12c is just too much to bear. Besides, it went from dry to humid as well. Thunder and lightening. Rain. The plants are loving it. The gardens are turning green over night. Too bad the weeds are outpacing the good stuff.

That’s a lament for anther day.

Happy Reading!

BookRunes has a FREE suggestion that looks interesting. It seems pretty clear that there is baggage involved. Lots of it.

Baggage Claim (Hope Again Book 1)

Amazon quote:

There had to be at least one healthy branch on his family tree…

Who can he trust?
When Ben Taylor, widower and father of four lively children, decides to track down his biological parents, he discovers a family tree with tangled roots and broken branches. The deeper he digs, the more Ben would rather cover it all up again and pretend he never met them.

Things grow exponentially more complicated when he discovers shady dealings at his job at Great Lakes Therapy. Piece by piece, his comfortable life crumbles as he becomes caught up in a dangerous network of fraud and deception. Anxious to protect his children, he convinces their nanny – who isn’t quite what she appears to be – to take them to safety while he wrestles with just how much he can trust his “new” relatives to help. When everything is unraveled, and there is no one else to lean on, will Ben find the courage he needs to see it through and the wisdom to lean on the One who can save them all?

That’s all I have for the moment.
I’m heading outside to work in the garden for a while. I have a This & That post rolling around in my mind so maybe it will happen a little later.

Happy Sunday Reading

Free book April 23, 2021

BookRune has a FREE suggestion for us. This author is on my favorites list and I’ve recently read five of her books. I’m looking forward to this one too.

When I Come Home Again: A Big Prairie

Amazon quote:

A tragic fallout drove them apart. When a family crisis calls him back to his small hometown where she still lives, will forgiveness lead them to a second chance?

Brenna Blaum had been sure of three things in her life—her brother, her running, and her dad’s star receiver. But in a matter of a year’s time, everything she’d counted on fell apart, leaving her devastated. Seven years later, she’s stable again. She has a supportive boyfriend, fulfilling career, and close friends. She keeps her past heartache where it belongs—in her rearview mirror. Until the man who broke her heart finds his way back to Big Prairie.

Craig Erikson had it all—popularity, success, and the love of his high school coach’s daughter. But after a year of mistakes that ended in a tragic accident, he’d left Big Prairie—the place he’d thought to always call home—hoping that without his antagonizing presence, Brenna would be able to heal. Now his mother desperately needs him, as do two young boys in her care. Craig has little choice but to return for good.

Unsure that she can forgive him, Brenna does her best to avoid him. Irritated that she ignores him as if they’d never meant anything to each other, Craig becomes determined not to allow it.

That’s all I have for book suggestions at the moment but if anything else shows up I’ll let you know.

*******************

Yesterday I shared pictures from family, of springtime in south western British Columbia, Canada. I was thrilled to see them mainly because we used to live there, within a few blocks of this actually. Spring is beautiful and looking at this picture brings back many pleasant memories.

In some ways I wouldn’t mind living there again but…

I have no reason to live there. That makes all the difference, I’ve found.

Without a reason it’s just not the same and it all falls kind of flat. There are a few places I’ve had reason to live more than once and it was different each time. The river of life moves on. I will treasure the memories I have of my time in Victoria and appreciate the new memories I’m making in this – my chosen spot, for now.

Speaking of my chosen spot, it is chilly out there. Last week we had storms and snow. This week the new snow is nearly gone and the weather is supposed to warm up, or so we were told. This morning I went out with the garbage, coat-less. Looking out it seemed like a hoodie should be enough. Not. The wind was bitter and it turned out to be -1c, feels like -8c.

Chatting with my neighbor for a few moments was a shivery affair.

Fickle, fickle weather.

One thing I do love about this place though; once the sun comes out it is always hot wherever it hits no matter what the real temperature is. Good job it shines often.

Happy Reading y’all.

BookRunes has a FREE suggestion for us from a frequent flyer author on this blog. It appears I downloaded this book in 2012 but after checking out the first page I don’t think I’ve ever read it. I will be reading it this time, it’s already on it’s way to my latest Kindle. I can’t believe I’ve downloaded 55 books from this author. Actually I guess I can since she has been doing Freebie Fridays forever it seems. Sign up to her newsletter or Face Book page to hear about them.

Argosy Junction (The Rockland Chronicles)

Amazon quote:

With a past more like a tragic ballad than a sweet love song, Lane’s life is about to change forever.

Montana—rugged, wild, and full of sheep that Matt Rushby had never imagined in his childhood dreams. Much to his relief, the local rancher’s daughter arrives just in time to save him from certain death by sheep smothering.

If only her family’s faith could have survived that fate.

They’ve left the local church, rejected God, lost their first Love. What had once been a close-knit fellowship of believers became a restrictive cult, and Lane wants nothing more to do with them or their God.

He didn’t mean to fall in love with her. She can’t let herself love someone who belongs to Jesus. The inner-city man meets rancher’s daughter and shakes up their lives.

1531 Entertainment has a bargain suggestion for us. It’s been awhile since I’ve read a novel from this era, I think I’m due and this one is appealing to me at the moment. This author is new to me and that adds extra intrigue.

A Clever Alliance: A Regency Romance (Regency Brides: A Promise of Love Book 1)

Amazon quote:

Lady Madalene Ramsbury has been summoned home from Miss Bell’s Finishing School to some unfortunate news. In three weeks, she is to be married to a man she’s never met. Rather than face a life she does not want; she flees from her own engagement party and elicits help from a most unlikely source.

Society’s golden boy, Everett, the Marquess of Northampton, was outraged when a young woman suddenly appeared in his curricle. Was she attempting to trap him into an unwanted marriage? It would be just like some overzealous mother to put her up to such a ploy. However, it doesn’t take long for him to discover that Madalene is unlike any woman he has ever known.

With her reputation in shambles, Lady Madalene and Everett hatch a plan to solve both of their problems, a fake engagement. But as they spend time together, they realize more is on the line than just a blossoming friendship. And with danger ever present from her jilted suitor, Everett and Madalene find themselves relying on one another in ways they’d never imagined… but can they trust each other with their hearts?

Another interesting bargain from this new author popped up on the suggestion ribbon.

Saving Lord Berkshire: A Regency Romance (Regency Matchmakers Book 1)

Amazon quote:

After losing her fiancé to a terrible accident, Miss Katherine Blackmore found contentment as a matchmaker to the members of Society. Working alongside her sisters, they strive to secure the most unlikely people with love matches. Everything is perfect until an infuriating lord steps into her office, turning her world upside down.

Edward Simpson, the Marquess of Berkshire, has a problem. His sister needs to marry, and quickly. When he approaches Miss Blackmore to hire her services, he does so poorly and ends up soundly insulting her. Luckily, he fares better with his second attempt.

Edward is boorish. Katherine is headstrong. Though their relationship begins on rocky footing, they soon realize that they need each other if they want to save Edward’s sister from making a horrible mistake. But Katherine works hard to keep Edward at a distance, even if he is worthy of her heart. Can Edward prove to Katherine that he is the man for her, or will he lose her forever?

I’m currently reading a new book from another favorite author.

Safe and Sound (Lantern Beach Guardians Book 3)

A call for help draws Police Chief Cassidy Chambers deep into a wooded, isolated area on Lantern Beach. What she finds shakes her to the core—a friend is bleeding out, and his last words before dying are: They know.

Figuring out who killed her friend and what his final words meant becomes Cassidy’s mission. Have members of the notorious gang that placed a bounty on her head discovered her new life? Or is someone else trying to teach her a twisted lesson?

Elements from past investigations surface and threaten more than one person’s safety. Cassidy and her husband, Ty, must make sense of the deadly secrets that unfold at every turn. If not, the life they’ve built together might come to a permanent end.

*************************

I’ve just finished reading and enjoying the latest book from Christy Barritt, a spin off from Safe and Sound: The Lantern Beach Guardians series. It is the start of a new Lantern Beach series, Lantern Beach Blackout. It’s still a bargain, grab it quick.

Rocco: a clean romantic suspense novel (Lantern Beach Blackout: The New Recruits Book 1)

Former Navy SEAL and new Blackout recruit Rocco Foster is on a simple in and out mission. But the operation turns complicated when an unsuspecting woman wanders into the line of fire.

Peyton Ellison’s life mission is to sprinkle happiness on those around her. When a cupcake delivery turns into a fight for survival, she must trust her rescuer—a handsome stranger—to keep her safe.

Rocco is determined to figure out why someone is targeting Peyton. First, he must keep the intriguing woman safe and earn her trust. But threats continue to pummel them as incriminating evidence emerges and pits them against each other.

With time running out, the two must set aside both their growing attraction and their doubts about each other in order to work together. But the perilous facts they discover leave them wondering what exactly the truth is . . . and if the truth can be trusted.

I’m looking forward to these new books. It’s going to be a good weekend!

Free book April 08, 2021

BookRunes has a FREE suggestion for us. This is a book from two years ago for me. I know I read it and have a vague recollection so I’m planning to read it again to refresh my memory. If I remember right it was well worth the read.

Lost and Found

“A fascinating and helpful read about a woman caught in the web of another person’s deceit and manipulation.” Leslie Vernick, Author of The Emotionally Destructive Relationship, and The Emotionally Destructive Marriage

A book I do remember reading by this author is Words. It is not a bargain or Free but is worth mentioning just because it is. It made a huge impact on me. Insightful and heart grabbing. I would read this again, in a minute. If my TBR pile was not so large I would read it again.

Words

A child whose silence holds the truth captive. An artist whose work speaks the agony of her past. When drawn together, will they let the truth set them free?

Ten-year old Kaylee Wren doesn’t speak. Not since her drug-addled mother walked away, leaving her in a remote cabin nestled in the towering redwoods, in the care of a man who is as dangerous as he is evil. Sierra Daw is thirty-four, an artist, and alone. She has allowed the shame of her past to silence her present hopes and chooses to bury her pain by trying to control her circumstances. But on the twelfth anniversary of her daughter’s death, Sierra’s control begins to crumble as the God of her childhood woos her back to Himself.

Will Kaylee and Sierra let the truth set them free?

I’m currently reading a nine book collection. I can’t say I’m loving it. I’ve just finished the 5th book and so far it is the one I liked the best. Sometimes the best are the first. Maybe this time the best will be last. I’m hoping, anyway. It is still a bargain price if it is appealing to you.

The Second Chance Brides Collection: Nine Historical Romances Offer New Hope for Love

Hope for Happy Endings Is Renewed in Nine Historical Romances

Meet nine women from history spanning from 1776 to 1944 feel the sting of having lost out on love. Can their hope for experiencing romance again be renewed?

Book 5 The Widow of St. Charles Avenue by Grace Hitchcock – New Orleans, 1895
Colette Olivier, a young widow who married out of obligation, finds herself at the end of her mourning period and besieged with suitors out for her inheritance. With her pick of any man, she is drawn to an unlikely choice.

********************

I suppose one thing that could account for the lack of depth in this collection is the length. Less than 100 pages each, although sometimes it feels like more.

At least I am still reading it, that has to mean something. If it was really bad I would have given up long ago and banished it from my device. It’s true.

Free and bargain books April 01, 2021

I haven’t been here for a few days, I will have to make it up to you with some extra posts along the way. There has been some stress going on the last few days and when that happens it’s not been easy to feel motivated for writing. Today is better though. I discovered an email in my junk folder from a dear friend I haven’t seen in several decades, if not longer. Catching up with her and focusing on the positive has been a game changer for me today.

Another positive was finding out the frustrating Adobe issues I’ve been having at work lately (in my home office) was the fault of a dying mouse. It seems to be an epidemic. I have a stable full (I have no idea what you call a mouse habitat so we will go with stable) and they have been dropping off like flies, one by one. It’s probably due to them being triplets, all the same age.

I am now the proud owner of three new mice. Someone suggested I could use the unify app with just one mouse. I was seriously considering it until I mentioned I like to have both laptops running on the same table at the same time. If I tried to make that work I might feel like throwing something. It would take an awful lot to get me to that point but I can see a shared mouse just might do it. Actually, computer issues are a hot button issue when it comes to my patience levels. I work hard at keeping the peace. The price of three mice is worth it.

So, books was supposed to be the original topic of discussion before I went off the rails. Fortunately, or maybe not, there isn’t much today but BookRunes has a FREE suggestion by an author I’ve been enjoying lately.

Mind Games (Kaely Quinn Profiler Book #1)

Amazon quote:

Kaely Quinn’s talents as an FBI behavior analyst are impossible to ignore, no matter how unorthodox her methods. But when a reporter outs her as the daughter of an infamous serial killer, she’s demoted to field agent and transferred to St. Louis.

When the same reporter who ruined her career claims to have received an anonymous poem predicting a string of murders, ending with Kaely’s, the reporter’s ulterior motives bring his claim into question. But when a body is found that fits the poem’s predictions, the threat is undeniable, and the FBI sends Special Agent Noah Hunter to St. Louis.

Initially resentful of the assignment, Noah is surprised at how quickly his respect for Kaely grows, despite her oddities. But with a brazen serial killer who breaks all the normal patterns on the loose, Noah and Kaely are tested to their limits to catch the murderer before anyone else–including Kaely herself–is killed.

Bargain books March 27, 2021

I wasn’t looking for books, honest. I’m actually in the middle of another post, trying to share from my lengthy read and enjoyed collection. The trouble is I just can’t ignore the suggestion strips.

So, I’ve read this author before but it’s been a few years and I can’t remember what I thought about the experience. There is this niggling thought in the back of my mind, though, that says I have read her recently, probably in a collection or two, and it was good.

Anyway, there are two appealing bargain books and I have to go for it. And, I’d better make sure to add her to the good authors list.

Once Upon an Irish Summer (Once Upon a Summer)

Amazon quote:

You Can’t Embrace Your Future Until You Deal With Your Past…

Fiona Burke has long been obsessed with Ireland’s famed, sixteenth-century pirate queen, Grace O’Malley. Now that she’s on the final stretch of earning her PhD in history, all she needs to do is finish her dissertation—with Grace O’Malley as her subject—then return home to Boston to defend it. Once that’s done she can compete for a highly coveted history professor position.

Fiona arrives in western Ireland aiming to interview the locals and find additional folklore to flesh out her work. But when she encounters Grace’s distant relative—the handsome, commanding Rory O’Malley—she gets seriously distracted. Rory shares her passion for history and Ireland, and cares for his grandfather and great-uncle in a winsome way. Unfortunately he also carries wounds beyond his injured leg…wounds that threaten to dismantle every little bit of a relationship that he and Fiona begin to build.

As a famed TV host becomes intrigued with Fiona—as well as convinced she should do guest appearances on his show—Rory starts to figure out that he might be as interested in his own personal romantic future as he is in Ireland’s epic past. But can he take the steps toward the healing he needs before it’s too late? It all remains to be seen…Once Upon an Irish Summer.

The Bridge

Amazon quote:

LOVE CAN BUILD A BRIDGE…After a tragic accident along the Swan River took the life of his mother, young Jared Conway grew up thinking little of the family he lost. As an adult, he remains without an anchor.

With his marriage truly over–despite his attempts at reconciliation with his ex-wife–and his young son far away at boarding school, Jared discovers that his success as a commodities broker has brought him little inner peace. On impulse he suggests to his son that they go to Montana over the boy’s summer break.

Jared’s plan is simple: to spend time with his child and to clean out the cabin he has inherited, in order to make a quick sale in the hot real-estate market.

When he gets to the river in Montana, Jared encounters three things that will change his life forever: the forces that have been driving him toward empty success, love for a spiritually grounded ceramist named Eden Powell, and the bridge that will finally lead him home.

BookRunes has a suggestion for us. It’s Urban Fantasy and this one is part of a series. I enjoy Fantasy, in a fairly narrow fashion. This one appeals to me so it’s been added to the pile.

Nearly Drowned (Tèarmann Chronicles Book 1): A Christian Urban Fantasy

Amazon quote:

Malissa has never known her true origins, but that’s about to change.

Malissa’s world is flipped upside down when rescuing a man from a pool that should have been empty makes her a target of those who tried to drown him. The closer they get the more she realizes that they might have been after her for foiling their plans, but not anymore. They seem to recognize her but from where?

Adopted as an infant, Malissa was left with no information about her parents or so she thought. After rummaging through some old papers she finds a note from her biological dad. On it, it says that he left her there for her safety. Unfortunately, no clues as to what sort of danger but surely the danger is gone, right?

Tèarmann Chronicles, Nearly Drowned, is the first in a 20+ book series. If you enjoy magical creatures and humans with powers, this series is for you.

BookRunes has a FREE suggestion for us. I have not read this author but I think it will be an adventure. The other four books in this series are at bargain prices, if this book goes down well for me I plan to check out a few more of them.

Sooner Dead: Oak Valley Secrets 2

Clean suspense with a touch of romance and faith. Book 2 in the series, but it can be read on its own.

Something terrible happened 100 years ago at Stone Mansion, a dilapidated ruin that looks over the small town of Oak Valley, Oklahoma.

Acting police chief Daniel Minco is driven to learn its secret but he is blocked by oil billionaires, militant archeologists, TV evangelists, rogue OSBI agents, a new state highway, and Lianne Ortega, a young, by the rules cop from the big city.

Mystery, murder, and romance. Oak Valley has it all!

A bargain from an author I’ve been reading lately.

Fire Games: A Clean, Christian Romance Suspense and Mystery (The Men of Fire Beach Book 1)

Amazon quote:

Where do you turn when you don’t know who to trust…

Firefighter Cassidy Marcel thought appearing on a reality dating show would solve her relationship problems, but when she returns home to a stalker, she realizes her troubles are just beginning. She is used to rescuing people, but who will rescue her?

Detective Jordan Graves is racing to save missing children. He doesn’t have time to search for a stalker. That is until Cassidy’s case collides with his own, but when she goes missing, will he be able to save her before it’s too late?

Fans of Alana Terry, Margaret Daly, and Christy Barritt will love this gripping romantic suspense from USA Today best-selling author Lorana Hoopes. A story guaranteed to keep the pages turning, you won’t want to put it down until you’re finished. Includes book group discussion questions.

Another author I’ve not read although I did download one of her books in 2020. This current book looks interesting enough that I can’t just leave and pass it up.

Traces

Amazon quote:

Even if she evades The Eye, someone wants her silenced.

When a failed romance and a $500,000 prize lure Kate Carson into participating in the reality TV show, Traces, the least she expects is to pick her partner. After all, she’s the PR spokeswoman of the company that derived a thirteen-lens, rotating camera from military use and installed it atop Atlanta’s tallest skyscraper. But she never would have chosen to evade techno hunters for twenty days with “G.I. Joe.”

Stoic, ex-military Alex Mitchell is the sort of man she always vowed to avoid, while the shadows of Alex’s past cause him to spurn emotional involvement. When Kate’s insider knowledge makes her a target of someone more threatening than game show hunters, Alex offers her only hope to reveal the dark plans of proponents of The Eye.

Currently I’m between books. I think the draw of these new books may be strong enough to have some of them solidly at the top of the to-be-read pile. I’ll let you know how that goes.

Unless more books come flying down the pike to derail my plans, tomorrow will be a read-and-enjoyed sharing kind of day. They are piling up again.

Happy Reading, folks
