A new adventure from #1 Best Selling Christian Romance Author, Staci Stallings begins now...
This is all I have, for the moment anyway. If anything else shows up I’ll let you know.
…on this blustery and cool, but not cold, Saturday.
BookBub has a mystery collection for us. There are three books and I’ve read one of them. I’ve met and enjoyed the other two authors, but have not read these books.
The Cost of Betrayal: Three Romantic Suspense Novellas
In Dee Henderson’s novella “Betrayed,” Janelle Roberts is freed–thanks to people she doesn’t know–after serving six years of a twenty-year sentence for a murder she did not commit. But a murderer is still at large, and Janelle needs to be somewhere safe with someone she can trust. She may not survive another betrayal.
In Dani Pettrey’s “Deadly Isle,” Tennyson Kent is trapped on the isolated island of her childhood by a storm surge, and she is shocked when the typically idyllic community turns into the hunting grounds of a murderer. Cut off from any help from the mainland, will she and first love Callen Frost be able to identify and stop a killer bent on betrayal before they become the next victims?
In Lynette Eason’s “Code of Ethics,” trauma surgeon Ruthie St. John saves the life of Detective Isaac Martinez. After a betrayal leads to him getting shot and then attacked while in recovery, Isaac is now a key witness determined to testify. But someone is intent on silencing him–and those around him–forever. Together, Ruthie and Isaac go on the run, desperate to escape the killers hunting him.
BookRunes has a FREE suggestion with an author new to me. After reading the first few pages I’m excited about reading this one.
Her Hope Discovered (Welcome to Ruby Book 1)
Is the sure thing worth risking for the possibility of maybe?
Charla Winthrop, a savvy business woman seeking a permanent lifestyle change in small-town Ruby, learns that things aren’t always what they appear when she takes up residence in a house steeped in charm and a hint of mystery.
Rumor has it that Sam Packard the town carpenter is her go-to guy for home remodeling, but can Charla convince him to help her—with no strings attached, of course?
Alone far too long, Sam’s prayed that God would send him a wife and a mother for his daughters. However, the new Ruby resident is hardly what he imagined. A new place to call “home,” the possibility of what might be, and the answer to someone’s prayers unite this unlikely pair with the help of the town’s residents.
Nestled in the Ozarks’ hills and hollows is Ruby, Missouri, a quaint, cozy town where “neighbor” is merely another word for “friend.” Ruby will charm and delight as will her quirky, lovable characters who will steal your heart, but hand it right back—with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Savor your new friends’ sorrows and successes in the community where offbeat is perfect and mishaps and mayhem never tasted so good.
Visiting with four tall grandsons for a day was a wonderful and exhausting experience. I can hardly wait to do it again.
Sleep is looking very attractive right about now though, so I’m going to say…
BookRunes has a FREE suggestion for us. I have read one other book by this author, This story doesn’t look to be a frivolous read, which is always nice.
The Ruthless Billionaire: A Clean Billionaire Romance (California Elite)
He needed to marry one of the women on his father’s list. She wanted to find her missing brother. Neither of them counted on falling in love.
Lucas Armstrong didn’t believe love existed. He was a ruthless man, ready to follow in his father’s footsteps. When he received an ultimatum to marry one of the women on his father’s preapproved list or risk losing his inheritance, he set out to win over a self-absorbed socialite, vacationing in Kauai. He wanted a marriage in name only so he could take over his father’s empire. Separate lives. No love. No attachments.
When Aria Dasher accepted a position cleaning Lucas’s house in Kauai, she had no idea she would fall for him. She was there for one reason only: she needed to save enough money to hire a private investigator. After she and her brother, Chase, were separated in foster care, he ran away and hadn’t been seen in four years.
Aria had to keep her eye on the goal and couldn’t allow any distractions in her life. She was determined to keep Lucas at arm’s length, and he was equally determined to push her away. A connection developed that neither of them anticipated, one that drastically changed everything.
But Lucas would have to do the unthinkable in order to be with Aria. He would have to give up his inheritance. And then there was that one issue with the secret he held. Once Aria found out, it would rip apart their relationship before it even had a chance.
This romance may be a needed break after the intensity of my current read. I’ve barely started this book and have no real opinions yet but I’m liking it so far.
Silent Night, Deadly Night by Richard Mabry
The colored lights on the snow gave it a holiday appearance, but the dead woman’s body in the yard added a grisly touch. How did Ina Bell Patrick die? Who killed her? And why?
The dead woman had no direct heirs, so two nephews and a niece stood to inherit. Dr. Laura Morris was left to make all the arrangements, attorney Roger Morris could certainly use the money, and Zack Morris had disappeared two years earlier. Then there was neighbor and “best friend” Fay Autrey, who was certain the woman intended to leave her some money—a great deal of money.
The police were still looking for the killer who left the frozen body in the snow when it became apparent someone was trying to pick off the heirs, one by one. Who would win the race—the police or the killer?
It’s a slow book day and one new one is all we have today. Tomorrow may be better.
…on this day that is somewhat warmer than yesterday.
We have an assortment of suggestions this morning, two from 1531 Entertainment and one from BookRunes.
I’ve read and enjoyed this first one.
Silent Night Standoff: Faith in the Face of Crime (First Responders Book 1)
When armed robbers strike her bank, hostage negotiator Skyler Brennan’s life is on the line. Rescue comes from the last person she thought she could count on—the ex-boyfriend who chose his job over their relationship. FBI agent Logan Hunter knows how much is resting on this case. The promotion of his dreams…and the safety of the woman he’s never been able to forget. But when an unexpected twist in the case pulls Logan in two separate directions, he’ll have to make an impossible choice. Will he manage to have it all by Christmas—a career and love—or will he lose them both?
First Responders: Brave men and women alert and ready for danger and love.
This is a first for me with this author.
Finding Lady Enderly
Raina Bretton is a rag woman in London’s east end when a handsome stranger appears in a dank alley and offers her a glittering smile and a chance for adventure. Rothburne Abbey has a unique position for her, one that will take her away from her hardscrabble life and give her a chance to be a lady. Things she could only dream of might be coming true. But some dreams turn out to be nightmares.
Though Raina has traded squalor for silk and satin, something about the abbey is deeply unsettling. As she wrestles with her true identity, the ruin, decay, and secrets she finds at the heart of the old mansion tear at her confidence and threaten to reveal her for who she really is. Only one man stands between her and the danger that lurks within–and only if he decides to keep her biggest secret hidden.
This next author is also new to me.
Ivory Shores: Book One (Ivory Shores Book Series 1)
In Book One of this series, an unlikely group of six vastly different women journey together to a secluded, southern beach known as Ivory Shores. Not one of them knows just how much impact she will have on the others through the life experiences she brings with her into their tiny beach house. As friendships grow, bonds strengthen, and individual stories unfold, each woman – no matter how bold, bitter, or broken her heart is – begins to find her own place in the great story of healing and restoration. “I loved this book, and I think you will too. Six women travel to the beach together, getting to know one another and sharing the struggles and triumphs of life. The characters are relatable, and the message is uplifting. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll want to plan your own girls’ trip to the beach!” Inspired by her own love of reading Christian fiction and her desire to encourage women in their faith and friendships, Tonya Weeks combines her gift of storytelling and her sense of humor to bring authentic characters and uplifting plots to life. With wit and wisdom gained through both fun-filled and humbling experiences, she easily connects with her readers, drawing them into an imaginative world of life, love, and laughter.
One book so far today, from BookRunes. This is an author we’ve seen fairly often and if you enjoy cowboy romance I think you will like this one.
Maybe more interesting suggestions will show up along the way.

With goodbye on the horizon, can Adele and Wyatt let go of the past to take a chance on a country romance?
Country Romance the first book in the Millars Crossing Cowboys romance series. If you like heartfelt explorations of hope, picturesque rural settings, and emotional journeys, then you’ll adore Carolyne Aarsen’s latest sweet tale.
The suggestion strip had a bargain suggestion, also historical. I’ve not read this author and have no way to gauge if it will be a good read. The first few pages look interesting, though, it should be worth a try at least.

It seems that all of Grace Clemens books are lengthy (over 400 pages) and priced as low bargains. This could be a bad sign. Still $1.25 is an easy way to check out her work. I’m going to order this one out of curiosity.
Currently, I’m reading an author new to me, one I wanted to check out. I’m about a third of the way through and undecided in my assessment. I will finish though. It is still free if you are interested.
Maybe part of my problem with enjoyment is that I forgot which author I was reading. One of the hazards of a fast pace between them. I was reading books from a less-enjoyed writer and needed a break. I’ve been reading this book with a biased opinion. Must rectify that.

I hope you are enjoying your day.
It has been a stormy one here but has calmed down and, at the moment, there is a hint of blue sky out there.

The next two showed up in the suggestion strips. It has been a little while since we’ve had any billionaire stories. I’m unfamiliar with the authors so can’t make a judgement call based on past experience. So far they are looking good.
The Billionaire’s Christmas Gift: A Clean and Wholesome Small Town Christmas Billionaire Romance

Chrystelle wishes she could spend Christmas with her beloved grandmother in her Colorado hometown. Then Quint offers her a contract to produce her TV series. What she hadn’t expected was Quint on her front porch, and not to wish her a Merry Christmas. He wants her script⸻on his terms, of course. But sprinkle this battle with grandmotherly wisdom and holiday charm, and the season of blessings reveals love in more ways than Chrystelle and Quint ever imagined.

Stuck in the wilds of Vermont, they forge a tenuous connection. When Ryan finally shares the truth about his illness, will it bring them closer together . . . or shatter Zara’s trust in him for good?
The last two, for sure, will be a lighter read than we’ve been having lately. At least I think they will be. I could be wrong, it wouldn’t be the first time. Even two out of three would be a win in my estimation. I’m planning on three out of three though.
I’ll just hit publish quick so we can get on with finding these while they are still a bargain.
Recently widowed, Luna Salcedo is recovering from years of emotional and physical abuse. On her way home to her temporary housing at Hope House Women’s Shelter, she spots an injured dog lying in the road and realizes it’s still alive. Hope is the second book of the Rescued Heart series, where dogs help to bring love to theladies of Hope House Women’s Shelter.

A DistantHeart (Burning Dress Ranch Book 1)
Two wounded souls. One loving, relentless God.
Welcome to Burning Dress Ranch.
Miss Sally, the mysterious and secretive owner of Burning Dress, established the operation with a very particular mission—to make sure her charges leave with a useful skill, and to share the love of Christ with their hurting, wounded souls.
Cecelia Huggins, broken by a bitter, shameful divorce, has come to Burning Dress to take control of her own destiny. She wants to work and learn. She doesn’t want friends, and she certainly doesn’t ever want to fall in love again.
Jax Taylor is foreman of the Burning Dress and he’s the perfect man for the job. Most of the ranch hands are women who are healing from some pretty tough blows. Just like them, he’s pushing past his own hurts and would rather drink poison than fall in love again.
Miss Sally has had some tough cases before but Cecelia and Jax may be the toughest. How do you convince two stubborn hearts that the only way to find rest for their soulsis to give in to love?
9-year-old Logan Ailshie, the only son of well-to-do parents, was used to getting his way, especially during the holidays. For him, Christmas wasn’t just about making a list but making sure it was long enough. He also had a reputation for embellishing the truth.
That is until a chance meeting with an angel on the streets of Manhattan ends with a journey back in time to the birthplace of Christianity. Eventually, he makes his way home with a story that could change all their lives. He only has one problem . . . no one will believe him.
My current read is fun; feisty women with dry and satirical humor. I’m loving this book.
Miss Julia Speaks Her Mind
Miss Julia, a recently bereaved and newly wealthy widow, is only slightly bemused when one Hazel Marie Puckett appears at her door with a youngster in tow and unceremoniously announces that the child is the bastard son of Miss Julia’s late husband. Suddenly, this longtime church member and pillar of her small Southern community finds herself in the center of an unseemly scandal-and the guardian of a wan nine-year-old whose mere presence turns her life upside down.
With razor-sharp wit and perfect “Steel Magnolia” poise, Miss Julia speaks her mind indeed-about a robbery, a kidnapping, and the other disgraceful events precipitated by her husband’s death. Fast-paced and charming, with a sure sense of comic drama, a cast of crazy characters, and a strong Southern cadence, Miss Julia Speaks Her Mind will delight readers from first page to last.
I forgot all about time change, it’s a good thing our devices are set up to change themselves.
To be honest, I really didn’t care, I didn’t have anywhere to be. It was kind of nice, though, to get up and find out it was earlier than I thought it was. An hour added to my day. Bonus.
So on to books.
BookRunes has a FREE suggestion that turned into three books. Two FREE and one bargain. There are 10 books already in my library from this author so that’s a good recommendation.
